The Doctor Who Fan Network Last Alteration: Sunday 07 September 2008 Welcome to the homepage for the Doctor Who Fan Network; we're a collection of local groups that have evolved out of fan gatherings in London ... and beyond! Our aim is to enable fans to contact and meet up with others with a common interest in the best programme on television! This resource is still being developed, but will provide a focal point for finding fan groups and to list events and social activities that are planned. If you wish to have your group listed please let us know! Most Recent News (or select all recent news)25th June 2007 - UKTV Drama: Who is the greatest Doctor Who?
The UK digital channel UKTV Drama will be running a Doctor Who weekend on the 14th-15th July, and as part of the proceedings fans will be able to vote for who they consider to be their favourite Doctor! The vote will be online from their website from the 29th June until the 13th July a fortnight later. (there isn't anything there if you go there before Friday!) 3rd May 2007 - End of Season Changes
As if the beginning of Season 3 hadn't thrown events into disarray, the BBC have announced that the seventh episode, 42, has been postponed for a week due to the Eurovision Song Contest. This means that the projected end of the season is now the 30th June, so events originally planned for that weekend are now under review. The calendar will be updated as soon as things are settled! 3rd April 2007 - Keepers of Croydon changes
Keepers of Croydon is moving from a set of monthly meet ups. I've decided, dictatorially, to organise a series of events in a much more random way which I will publish once I know what they are and when they will be. Keepers will continue but it will be more sporadic. One definite at this stage is a new and improved Christmas Party and I'm looking forward to that greatly. Naturally the blog will keep going and I'm also in the process of creating a website to house the best articles outside of the blog format - if people fancy getting a point across that is missed from the majority of fandom get in touch and we could get your article up there for the world to see. I say the World.. well it's mainly been the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Brazil so far but I'm hoping for a fifth continent any day now (does Antarctica have broadband?). 16th December 2006 - Keepers of Croydon blog
The Keepers of Croydon now have their own blog available to read online. Note: this is a more adult-oriented viewpoint (cert 15!). 1st December 2006 - Yellow Advertiser Article
The Essex and East London paper, The Yellow Advertiser, ran a brief article on the Network as part of its "Me And My Group" series. If you've come to this site from reading the paper, hello! Please feel free to let us know what you think about Doctor Who or Torchwood, or drop us a line if you'd like to meet up with groups or even arrange your own in your area. Next Few Activities (or select all activities)Please email the particular hosting group or the social address for more information about an event. |
