Last night's
McGuffin's Film & Television quiz saw a round on
"The Ten Faces of Doctor Who", featuring questions on each of the
actors. For those who want to test themselves the questions are below
(as well as can be remembered!)
- Which former Doctor was announced this week as the new voice for
BT phone txt messages?
- Which short-lived Doctor had his big-screen debut in 1991's
"Let Him Have It"?
- After playing the third Doctor, actor Jon Pertwee went on to star
in a children's show about an old scarecrow - name the character
he played.
- Which former Doctor appeared on Channel 5's opening night playing
serial killer Michael Sams in "Beyond Fear".
- Which Doctor was originally going to play Sharpe on television,
but had to pull out in favour of Sean Bean when he was injured?
- Jon Pertwee appeared in several Carry On films, but which other
Doctor also had a starring role in one of the films?
- Which Doctor has since gone on to play Inspector Dangerous Davies
in the series "The Last Detective"?
- New Doctor David Tennant has recently appeared in the latest
Harry Potter film, "The Goblet of Fire" - but which character
did he play?
- TRUE or FALSE - Colin Baker is the only Doctor to have previously
appeared in the series in a supporting role.
- Which actor after leaving Doctor Who went on to play Father Brennan
in the film "The Omen"?
- Weds 25th January - Knight's Templar, Chancery Lane
- Midweek drinkie and mixed grill-fest, from 5:30pm
- Thu 2nd February - Fitzroy Tavern, Charlotte Street

- Gary's traditional bimonthly curryfest in Greenwich!
- Sat 18th February - Shakespeare's Head
- New venue for the Temporal Renovators, as we're relocating from the

'cosy' refines. Plus the new location has better food and drink!
Usual meetup time from 12:30pm onwards, or for those
earlybirds who fancy some breakfast from 11:30am!
- Weds 23rd November - Anniversary Meal

I won't be there this month thanks to work commitments, but if those
thinking about it let me know so numbers can be planned!
- Sat 10th December - Cinderella
- (booked)
- Sun 11th December - London Locations Wander
- Currently thinking about this, if there is anyone who'd like to see some of

Happy to do a later start than the previous times for those who like a
lie-in :-)
(some of us going to NFT in the evening - booked)
- Thu 15th December - Gary's Curry Club
- Gary's traditional bimonthly curryfest in Greenwich!
- Sat 17th December - Princess Louise / Christmas Meal
- Usual meetup at the Lou for afternoon drinkies; the majority vote has come
out with this date for our group Christmas meal, so current plan is to drink
a little longer than usual(!) and then head over to Shad Thames, Tower
Bridge, for the Christmas meal at one of Resurrection-based restaurants.
Cinderella
Pantomine with John Barrowman and Richard Wilson, New Wimbledon Theatre
Current thought is for the Saturday 10th December matinee at 2:00pm,
hopefully tickets are still available. If I could know this week then I can
try and book it this weekend.
Prices are: 11.00 (Upper Circle), 16.00 (Upper Circle or Orchestra Stalls),
19.00 (Dress Circle/Orchestra Stalls), and 21.00 (Dress Circle/Orchestra
Stalls). The seating plan for these can be seen at
http://www.theambassadors.com/newwimbledon/sp_p2043_vsp.html
Please let me know if you're interested and which
prices you are comfortable with - would the 21.00 ones in the stalls be okay
in general?
Update: According to the box office
the matinee on the 10th is rapidly being sold out, they can
currently do us in the stalls row S (tickets @ 19.00) so I guess we need to
be quick to get this booked up!
I would propose to call them tomorrow afternoon with a final booking so
could I have confirmations by lunchtime?
Christmas Meal
This is to take place at a restaurant on Shad Thames, Tower Bridge
(Resurrection), and I'll do a recce soon to see which place looks nice to go
to. We could do this on either Friday 16th in the evening, or maybe Saturday
17th would be better to follow on from our usual Princess Louise meeting (I
think I'm tending towards the latter at the moment). If you could let me
know if you can make either of the dates that would be great!
